Each Wednesday afternoon, the students spend several hours working with their hands in learning one of the practical arts. Led this Fall by Mr. Taylor, the boys have been introduced to both Leatherworking and Pottery. In each case they have produced something that they use on a regular basis – in the case of leatherworking, a calfskin belt, and in the case of pottery a mug and bowl that will be part of their daily dishware moving forward.
Pottery in particular has been a big hit. Special thanks goes to Bobbi Kemna of Fort Scott for graciously sharing both her pottery studio and her expertise.
